BRICK

BRICK

Restaurant Review: San Francisco. CA.. Nob Hill

Located in the tenderness of Nob Hill, Brick “is a restaurant specializing in internationally influenced, modern American cuisine.” The interior is chic, the ambiance is romantic, and the live jazz almost makes you feel like you aren’t two steps away from the loin. Big ups for quick turnover for orders! Plates came out quickly, though the small portion sizes may attribute to the less time needed for preparation. The tuna tartar was scrumptious and refreshing. The pan seared scallops were large, fleshy, and dripping with lemon/basil infused butter. The roasted pork loin was tender and light. The skirt steak was perfectly charred and coupled with finely roasted fingerling potatoes and brussel sprouts. Though initially delicious, the salt concentration sucked every ounce of moisture in my body dry. Luckily, the servers keep a large carafe of water on the table at all times, but alas the lovely Kate was not there to refill my carafe at 3:00am when I awoke with what can only be compared to a ganja-induced cotton mouth. (Salt) Brick should come with a disclaimer: consult a doctor before eating if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, and/or less than 1 kidney. Great for the young folk with healthy bods, but bringing grandma here may inadvertently trigger a heart attack.

Satisfied the inner tapeworm: Err, yes… 2 appetizers and 2 entrees later.
Repeat visitation: maybe only for appetizers & drinks
